Best Supplements for Transplanting Plants

Best Supplements for Transplanting Plants

As your plants grow, it is likely that they will outgrow the original pots in which they were planted. When this happens, transplanting plants is essential to allowing them to grow further.

Transplanting plants is the process of moving a plant from a smaller pot into a larger pot to allow more growth. Your plants can only grow as big as your pots allow.

Smaller pots will restrict root growth, which in turn impacts the growth of your plants. But how do you know when it is time to start transplanting plants?

Typically, transplanting plants will need to be done twice. For example, you may start your plants in a one gallon pot. After 4-8 weeks following germination, you will transplant into a two gallon pot.

8-12 weeks after your initial transplant, or roughly two weeks before your plants start flowering, you will transplant again into a five gallon pot.

However this can be cut into just one transplant. Many will transplant from their one gallon pot directly into a five gallon, skipping the two gallon all together.

No matter how many times you choose to transplant, using a supplement to aid in transplanting can be the difference in your plants surviving the transition.

Here are some of the best supplements for transplanting plants that will help to prevent transplant shock and give your plants an extra boost of essential and micronutrients to give them the best chance of success.

OG BIOWAR Root Pack

The OG BIOWAR Root Pack is a microbial inoculant made from a proprietary blend of highly concentrated beneficial fungi and bacteria that perform many important functions in the rhizosphere (the root zone).

OG BIOWAR Root Pack is not a fertilizer, and can be used in conjunction with any nutrient program. When comparing spore counts and diversity, it is hard to beat the results of OG BIOWAR.

It promotes plant health by boosting the immune system, increasing shoot and root growth, multiplying flower production, increasing essential oil production, and contributing to the overall well being of your plants!

Xtreme Gardening Azos

Don't let the name intimidate you. Xtreme Gardening Azos is an easy to use product packed with beneficial microbes. The microbes spark new root development and boost growth after transplant.

Azos works by rapidly increasing plant production of IAA (indole-3 acetic acid)–a natural plant hormone, affecting cell division, growth rates and plant and root development. It enhances growth by converting atmospheric nitrogen into a usable form available to plant roots.

Lastly, Azos can be used with any nutrient line, and is safe for use in hydroponic reservoirs, so you can feed your plants more effectively and efficiently.

Real Growers Recharge

Real Growers Recharge is a Colorado-made, organic plant growth stimulant that works in soil-based and soilless media. Loaded with mycorrhizae, trichoderma, and other beneficial soil microbes, Recharge can be made into an instant compost tea with little mess.

Recharge is easy and safe to use, will never burn your plants, and is packed with beneficials to help your plants thrive after transplant.

Elite 91 Myco Jordan

Myco Jordan is a wettable powder containing 100 % organic endomycorrhizal fungi at superior concentrations of the purest viable spores used as a soil drench or seed/root inoculant.

These fungi attach and construct a vast colonization of symbiotic associations inside and outside plant roots that are actually extensions (absorbent fibers) of the root zone. The associations form thousands of access points which significantly enhance water and nutrient availability and absorption; which will promote profound plant vigor, optimized root growth, enhanced crop quality and increased yields.

Myco Jordan and Elite 91 is known for the creation of "slurry tech", in which by mixing a small amount of water with Myco Jordan, you can create a slurry that makes for the perfect rooting agent.

Simply dip your cutting or transplant into the slurry and replant. Then watch the growth happen!

Great White/Orca Mycorrhizae

Great White is a cutting-edge formula containing a highly concentrated and diverse blend of beneficial microbes. The endo and ecto mycorrhiza, beneficial bacteria and Trichoderma build a microbial system in and on plant roots which enhance water and nutrient uptake.

Great White can be used in hydroponics, field agriculture or home gardening. It is best used as a seed coat or in the early stages of growth. Users should look for vibrant and vigorous plants. Great White is used by professional and home growers for its quality, consistency and proven results.

Orca is the liquid sibling to Great White, and while not completely identical in its makeup, serves an identical purpose. This concentrated and diverse mix of mycorrhiza and beneficial bacteria is designed to be watered in or run through hydroponic or irrigation systems.
